This 1950 Chevrolet 3600 Pickup is a true testament to solid craftsmanship and vintage Americana. The previous owner mentioned that the truck was kept in a museum for over 20 years, and after purchasing it, they had the vehicle fully serviced to address any issues from its long period of storage. The engine was also checked, and the valve train was serviced, ensuring this classic Chevy is in top running condition.

As a side note, this Chevrolet pickup is not a dealer auction vehicle. We hand-pick each truck after thorough inspection. Our classics come from owners who expect their vehicles to go to someone who will give them the same care and attention as they did. We encourage you to examine the truck in person or have it inspected. Take your time to scrutinize each picture—our goal is to make sure you feel confident about your purchase. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to give us a call.

Exterior:

The blue exterior of this Chevy pickup is in great driver condition. As shown in the photos, the paint has a terrific gloss and a nice shine. The 8-lug wheels are in excellent shape with no curb rash, and the Continental tires have about 90% of tread left, sized 235/75R15. There are no major imperfections that have been intentionally excluded from the photos. There are a few small imperfections, but nothing noticeable from about five or ten feet away.

The wood bed is in great condition, as shown in the photos, and the underside of the truck is very clean, with specific photos of the frame, rear spring mounts, rockers, lower panels, and cab corners to show the absence of rust. This truck has been well-maintained and is a prime example of solid vintage Chevy construction.

Interior:

The dark brown interior of this pickup is in amazing condition. The seat is in excellent shape, looking just as good in person as it does in the photos, with no split seams, holes, or excessive wear. The typical wear on the driver’s bolster is minimal, making the seat look nearly new. The gauge faces are crisp and clean, and the lenses are crystal clear. The door panels are in excellent condition, and the dash shows no cracks, fading, or sun damage.

Mechanical:

The 216ci straight-six engine runs great, starting right away every time and idling smoothly. This Chevy truck drives well, and despite being a vintage vehicle, it handles nicely on the road. In the video below, you can see the truck accelerating up to 70 mph, shifting through all the gears, braking at a stoplight, and going through some curves—everything runs smoothly with no vibrations or strange noises.

  • Brakes: The brakes are responsive, and the truck does not pull to either side.
  • Shifter: The shifter feels great and does not pop out of gear.
  • Clutch: The clutch feels solid and operates smoothly.
  • Cooling: The truck runs cool and does not overheat.
  • Engine Compartment: The engine compartment is clean, detailed, and correct as shown in the photos.

The truck’s spotlight works, as do the exterior lights and gauges. The windshield wipers go up, but need a hand to go back down. While the truck doesn’t have turn signals and the horn clicks but doesn’t blow, it is otherwise in great working order. We have driven the truck up to 40 mph around our dealership and it performed well, though we haven’t taken it on the highway for extended speeds.

Overall Condition:

Overall, this 1950 Chevrolet 3600 Pickup is in magnificent driver condition. The low miles, beautiful color combination, and excellent overall condition make it a rare find, especially considering how many trucks of this era were used and abused. It’s hard to find a classic truck like this in such great original condition with low mileage.

The truck does not come with a door key, but we can have one made for $250 if the future owner wishes to have it. The truck consistently gets a ton of attention on the road, and it’s obvious that it has been well taken care of by its previous owners.

The prices of classic pickups have increased considerably over the past several years, and these vehicles are not only great for driving and enjoyment but also wise investments for collectors. You could easily enjoy this truck for several years and sell it for more than the purchase price with minimal effort.

Don’t miss the chance to own this classic 1950 Chevrolet 3600 pickup truck. It’s a true piece of American history, beautifully preserved and ready to drive. Contact us today to learn more or schedule a viewing!
