Exterior:

The black exterior of this Cutlass is in excellent driver condition. As shown in the photos, the finish boasts a terrific gloss, deep shine, and a smooth finish that reflects the care this car has received. The original color-matched wheels are in great condition with a brilliant finish and no curb rash. The Firestone Indy 500 raised white letter tires have plenty of tread left, sized at 225/70R14. While there are some small imperfections on the vinyl top and a few tiny blemishes around the car that are too faint to capture in photos, nothing stands out from about five feet away. The car’s underside is exceptionally clean, and the frame is solid. Detailed photos of the rear spring mounts, rockers, lower quarter panels, and other rust-prone areas are included to demonstrate the car’s excellent condition.

Window Date Codes:

Almost all of the glass on this Oldsmobile is date-coded and original. Each piece predates the car’s body build date of 11D, which is the fourth week of November, 1971. The original glass suggests this car has not experienced any major accidents or sustained significant damage.

Interior:

The black interior of this Cutlass is in absolutely outstanding condition. The seats are almost like brand new, with no split seams, holes, or excessive wear. Importantly, the bolster area, where the driver typically enters and exits, shows minimal wear. The woodgrain trim is in excellent shape with no delamination. The carpet is in wonderful condition, with no stains, holes, or tears. The gauge faces are crisp and clean, with clear lenses. The door panels are in excellent condition, and the door pulls are solid and intact. The dashboard and console are in great condition, free from cracks, fading, or sun damage. The trunk is clean and includes the jack, full-size spare tire, and matching rim. This Cutlass has never been smoked in, with no burn marks or lingering cigarette smell.

Mechanical:

This Cutlass is in great mechanical condition. We’ve driven over 50 miles without any issues. The numbers-matching engine starts right up every time and runs smoothly. It’s an excellent driver that performs well on the road and at highway speeds. In the video included, you can see the car accelerating to about 70 mph, shifting smoothly through all gears, braking at a stoplight, and handling curves. The car runs without any vibrations or strange noises, and overall performance is solid.

The brakes do not pull to one side, and the previous owner had the front brakes converted to disc. The shifter is tight, and the transmission shifts smoothly through the power band. There’s no blue smoke at start-up or during driving, and the car runs cool without overheating. The exhaust sounds healthy, thanks to a custom exhaust system installed by the previous owner (detailed in the underside photos). The engine bay is beautifully clean, detailed, and correct, as shown in the photos.

Additionally, the horn, exterior lights, interior lights, dash lights, indicators, wipers, and all gauges work perfectly. Even the key buzzer is functional. The blower for both the heater and A/C works on all speeds, and the air conditioning blows ice cold after being updated and converted to R134. You can see the compressor engaging properly in the video.
